Optimization & Debottlenecking

Modifications were made to this existing gas processing facility to increase production and lower emissions. Phase 1 converted the gas-driven compressor to electric motor drive, increasing production to 34 MMscfd. Phase 2 optimization included re-cylindering the first stage cylinders in the main compressors and retrofitting the refrigeration plant with a new parallel lean / rich heat exchanger, glycol flash separator, EG regenerator, still column and new de-ethanizer reboiler, to increase production from 67 MMscfd to 72 MMscfd.

Project Outcomes

The facility was also converted from sweet to sour service. This involved adding a low-pressure amine sweetening plant, sour water stripper, incinerator, and conversion of existing equipment, piping, valves, and instrumentation.
