Water Treatment Facilities

This water treatment facility treats produced water from nearby gas plants for solids, hydrocarbons, and bacteria, prior to storage in two large storage ponds. The make-up water is used in the client’s hydraulic fracturing operations. It was designed for an inlet rate of 3,000 m3/day. Later, Cornerstone designed a new treatment process train in parallel to the existing package, installing a Swirltex Water Treatment Package to utilize bulk oil removal, solids removal, iron removal, and ultrafiltration membrane treatment system to remove remaining oil and bacteria. It is sized to treat 1,800 m3/day.

Project Outcomes

Cornerstone was responsible for the design, project management, detailed engineering, drafting, HAZOP, procurement, and construction and commissioning support. During the Swirltex addition, Cornerstone worked closely with the client and Swirltex, new to the oil and gas industry, to facilitate a successful project completion.
